Angel Juice

Joy, playfulness and spontaneity are aspects of our Soul divine Self. As adults we can tend to disconnect from our childlike playfulness yet that is what the Angels are like, that is what we are like at Soul level. When I feel joyful and grateful about everything in my life and am completely omnipresent, at One,  I joke with the Arch Angels that I am on 'Angel Juice'. It is a bit of an 'in-joke' I have with Uriel and Raphael when I am being silly or playful. The four main Arch Angels Uriel, Raphael, Michael and Gabriel happen to be my own guides so I am blessed to be able to joke with them. The Angels are playful and joyful and they so want us in human form to connect with that part of our Selves. We all have personal guides or angels that are with us throughout our lives. Most are only waiting for all of us to wake up to the fact that we are never alone, even in those times of deep pain.

At this level of joy we can find the humour or irony in every aspect of life. In fact a sense of humour is vital in being able to not take ourselves too seriously. No matter how bad our life gets at times there is always a person out there with a 'worse deal' than us. The ego, by its very nature, takes everything personally and takes itself too seriously.

I only have to think about those devastated families in Iraq or Afghanistan who have no home, no water, no food and most of their family has been torn to shreds by bombs and shrapnel for me to immediately find gratitude for everything in my life. I always think about this every time I am dropping into a part of me that feels deep grief or pain, or anger and needs some healing. Immediately I lift my focus to what I am grateful about in my life so I do not project my grief, anger or painful emotion onto everything in my life. I also think about a wonderful friend of mine in Sydney who was such a great mentor to me who had been through 'hell' in her life. And throughout it all she had always managed to laugh, she taught me how to see the humour even in the most tragic of situations.  Even when she was homeless with two kids on the streets she was always able to see the humour. Or a friend of mine who became a heroin addict after being raped constantly by a family friend as a kid and teenager. He then became a male prostitute and ran away from home. It was the only thing he knew at the time to do. When I had coffee with him he was able to laugh at himself, despite the fact that he had just been diagnosed with aids. 'You got to have fun Fi' he said with a warm smile. He is a survivor. So even when I had a prolapsed disc, a knee operation, bad debt from business dealings going wrong, a broken relationship and major illness I was still able to laugh.

A bit like a Woody Allen movie. He is a Director who plays on the opposites: tragedy=comedy. I suppose when we 'go above ourselves' and put ourselves in the 'Director's chair' rather than in the lead role of our life we can sit back and look at the situation without being attached to it. From that point of observation we can assess what the best course of action is. This is the role of our Higher Self. Our Higher Self is the Director of our own movie. We are playing a role in this movie called 'life' and we have forgotten that we are also the Director of the movie. However, the only way we can get true guidance from the Director (our Higher Self) is to develop our spiritual intuition again and learn to surrender. True surrender does not mean giving up or letting go of our dreams, it means being able to be detached from them and allow them to unfold. It does not mean we do not take daily action towards them, but we do not try and control outcomes.

The other way to view our lives is the chess board analogy. Our physical self is a chess piece on the chess board. All we can see right now is the other pieces on the chess board, and these are other people in our life. Our Higher Self will move these chess pieces around the chess board and introduce new chess pieces (people) to our game when appropriate. We have no idea what tomorrow will bring in terms of who will come into our reality, or who will leave our reality and we are not the chess piece. However, being stuck in physicality we believe that all we are is the chess piece. Therefore the only way we can create things or 'get things' is to control other chess pieces or things in our game. If things in our life are not working in the way we would like there will always be a 'benefit' that we can't see right now. There will always be a 'bigger reason' for it. And often it is because there is more that we need to learn. The only way we can cope is to fall into control mode or simply surrender. Surrendering is a lot easier.

So when we can ‘drink some Angel juice’ life is joyful again. We can rise above our own predicaments and access the eternal now moment and connect with our own joy from Soul.

So I try and find my sense of humour. This is hard for the ego self as we take ourselves so seriously, but our Soul self can always laugh at the situation. We can seek to detach from the situation. The other thing I think about every time I feel that I am not 'getting what I want' or things are not happening as fast as I would like is to stop, take a long breath and say to myself - 'it is not up to me. My Higher Self is being and doing everything right now and everything is divinely perfect, even though I simply cannot see or understand all of it right now.'

This is surrender. Our ego can fall into frustration so easily when it tries to control everything in its world. Yes, we think we are in control, but we are not.
